- Large beautiful oranges (as many as needed). You may have to look in several stores for beautiful oranges, don't wait until the very last minute.
- Cloves.
- Some pine branches (the hidden or inside of part of your tree is convenient) or any seasonal foliage like holly or poinsettia blooms.
- Cut your oranges in halves.
- Scoop out the flesh of the orange like you'd prepare a grapefruit - use a knife to cut the flesh from the rind and then scoop out the flesh using a spoon. Save the flesh to use in drinks or other things.
- Using a knife or fun shaped cookie cutters, make a hole in the top half of your orange (about the size of the tea light.
- Insert your cloves around the orange. Your pattern can be simple to complex and if you really want to go all out, you can put your guest's names and use them as place settings.
- Place the assembled orange on a nice coffee cup plate or several on a dinner plate and then add your foliage.

A major component of cooking is presentation of both the food and the table the meal is eaten on. These Orange Rind Votives are quick, easily elegant, fragrant and inexpensive. Use them on your table or throughout your home.
I saw this posted on Alan Ilagan's Blog which Alan got from The Fabulous Beekman Boys who also just won The Amazing Race.
